Woman in her 70s sadly dies after being struck by Nissan in Keighley

A woman in her 70s has sadly died following a collision with a car in Keighley.

In an appeal made today, West Yorkshire Police said:

“Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Keighley town centre yesterday (Thursday 30 January).

Officers were called to A629 North Street where it was reported a female pedestrian was in collision with a blue Nissan Qashqai at 10.39am. 

The car had been travelling away from Cavendish Street towards the town centre. 

The woman, aged in her 70s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she sadly died. 

The driver of the Qashqai stopped at the scenep. 

The road was closed while investigations were carried out and was reopened yesterday evening. 

Officers from the Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) would like to speak to any witnesses who have not already been in contact with police, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which might have captured the collision.”
