A mini mart in Lancaster city centre has been handed a three month closure notice after being found to sell vapes to children.

In a social media post, Lancashire Police said:

“On Wednesday 29th January we issued a closure order for a shop in Lancaster city centre.

City Mini Mart, on Penny Street, Lancaster failed several test purchasing operations conducted by Trading Standards alongside Lancaster Police, where they were found to have sold vapes to children. They have now been issued with a 3 month closure order.

We hope this sends a message out loud and clear that Lancaster is not a place where you can run businesses in ways which harm children and break the law.

OpCenturion is a county wide crackdown on anti-social behaviour, backed by the Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.”
