The driver a woman in her 40s has been arrested
A woman has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury after being struck by a car in Liverpool.
The collision happened on Thursday morning close to Edge Hill train station. The driver of a Vauxhall corsa suspected of drink driving has been arrested.
In a statement released today, Merseyside Police said:
“We are appealing for information following a collision involving a pedestrian and a car in Edge Hill this morning, Thursday 30 January.
At around 8.05am it was reported that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a Silver Vauxhall Corsa on Tunnel Road, near Edge Hill Train Station.
The female pedestrian has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
A 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above the limit.
Tunnel Road is currently closed while emergency services dealt with the incident. We ask motorists to please avoid the area and find an alternative route. Thank you for your patience.
We are appealing for any witnesses, CCTV and dash camera footage which may assist the investigation.”
