Emergency services descended on a pub in Bamber Bridge after a woman was found unresponsive on Tuesday afternoon.
Members of the public reported seeing two ambulances and police outside the Withy Arms on Station road shortly after 1:30pm with a cordon in place.
It has since been confirmed that a woman in her 50s was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
“We were called at 1.31pm to the Withy Arms, Station Road, Bamber Bridge, to a report that a woman had been found unresponsive.
The emergency services attended but very sadly, the woman – who is in her 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this distressing time.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner in due course.”
