Blackpool man charged after woman assaulted in Kendal

He has been remanded into custody to appear at Magistrates Court today

A man from Blackpool has been charged with various offences following an investigation into a woman being assaulted on a bridge in Kendal.

In an update posted today, Cumbria Police said:

“Detectives in Kendal have charged a man with multiple offences after a woman in her late teens was assaulted in Kendal on Sunday evening ( 26 January).

Jack Slaven, aged 31, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the following offences following the incident:

– Attempted robbery
– Assault (ABH)
– Two counts of assault of an emergency worker
– Shoplifting

He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court today (28 January).”
