He has now been ordered to leave the dock by the judge
The Southport killer Axel Rudakubana has arrived in court this morning for his sentencing hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.
He pleaded guilty on Monday to all charges faced which included the murders of three young girls attending a Taylor Swift themed dance class in Southport on Monday 29th July 2024.
It had been reported that Rudakubana had to be taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning but has since been deemed fit and well to attend court.
He sat in the dock with his head bowed and refused to confirm his name when asked by the court clerk.
He then interrupted the hearing by shouting to the judge.
Rudakubana shouts: “I need to speak to a paramedic because I feel ill. Judge I need to speak to a paramedic because I feel ill.”
Judge: “I know the defendant has seen medical practitioners and been examined.”
Rudakubana shouts: “You’re not giving me any support judge, I feel ill.”
The judge addresses Mr Reiz: “Could you ask him to speak to him. I’ve heard what he’s said. I want this hearing to continue.”
Mr Reiz: “He has not eaten for a number of days. He has drunk very little. There was concern about his ability to be in a high pressure situation. I spoke to Mr R this morning. He did indicate that he felt well enough to proceed. I will take instructions.”
Judge: “I’ve been reassured that he has been seen and is fit to attend this hearing.”
Justice Goose says that he will require Rudakubana to remain quiet during the sentencing, at which he says: “I can’t remain quiet because I’m ill judge. I haven’t eaten for 10 days. I’m not going to remain quiet.
He continues to interrupt, and the judge has now ordered for him to be removed from the dock.
Sentencing continues…
