Citizens arrest duo released under investigation as man charged with pub burglary

The man from Ingol has been charged with burglary

Two people have been released under investigation after their arrest on suspicion of Section 18 assault following a citizens arrest that left a male suspect unresponsive in the street.

Officers were called in the early hours of Sunday morning to reports of a burglary at the Duke Of York Pub on Dickson Road. They received a further call to reports of a disturbance in Clifton Street.

One man was found in the street unresponsive. He was taken to hospital for treatment but later discharged and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He can now be named as Kyle Rhodes, 24 from Ingol. Rhodes has been charged with one count of burglary and remanded to appear at Magistrates Court today.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:

“We received a report of a burglary on Dickson Road, Blackpool at 4.59am yesterday (January 19).

A few minutes later, we received a report of a disturbance on Clifton Street, Blackpool. Officers attended and found a man in his 20s unresponsive. He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged and arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Kyle Rhodes, 24, of Threefields, Ingol, has since been charged with burglary and has been remanded to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court today.
