He is now back behind bars after being convicted of burglaries in Lancaster
A man who was previously locked up for targeting business premises in Lancaster has found himself back behind bars after reoffending just weeks after being released early from prison for previous offences of burglary.
In an update posted after sentencing, Lancashire Police said:
“Shaun ROBERTS, 31 years old, of Wrexham, Wales has been found guilty at Lancaster Magistrates Court on Friday 3rd January 2025 of committing a burglary of a retail business in Lancaster City Centre.
The court heard ROBERTS approached the business during the early hours of the morning, smashing the front door and stealing the money till from within.
Your local neighbourhood officers, quickly identified ROBERTS as the offender who had only just been released from Prison, a short while ago.
Our regular followers might remember ROBERTS was imprisoned back in October 2024 for committing five burglaries of our local businesses in the city and was sent down for 26 weeks.
Unfortunately ROBERTS was released early and not being rehabilitated continued his behaviour in our city. The magistrates have on this occasion issued a sentence of 24 months and ordered him to pay £154 costs.
Lets hope he is rehabilitated this time and if he wishes only returns to our fair city to enjoy the sights.”
