Woman charged with murder after woman stabbed to death in Hyndburn flat

A 52-year-old woman has been remanded into custody to appear at Preston Crown Court

A woman has been charged with Murder following an investigation by Lancashire Police after the discovery of a woman’s body in Church, Lancashire.

The woman in her 50s has been named as Zoe Crowther. A post mortem examination found she had died from multiple stab wounds.

Her body was discovered in a ground floor flat at Walmsley Close on Tuesday. A murder investigation was immediately launched.

DCI Andy Fallows, from Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team, said: “Our enquiries are very much ongoing.

“I would ask anyone with information which could assist the investigation team to get in touch as soon as they can.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting log number 0512 of January 14, or through Lancashire Police’s website.

Janet Connors, 52 of Walmsley Close, Church was arrested and has since been charged with murder.

Appearing at Blackburn Magistrates Court today she was remanded into custody to appear before Preston Crown Court on Monday.
