Emergency services were in attendance at the scene on Thursday afternoon.
Lancashire Police closed Eagle Street in the town whilst they assisted Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service in recovering the body of a man in his 40s that police are describing as a sudden death.
The death is being treated as non-susicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner, say the force.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
“At around 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday, January 16) we were called to reports of a sudden death on Eagle Street, Accrington.
Officers attended and sadly found the body of a man in his 40s. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this distressing time.
“His death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.”
