An arrest warrant has been issued for two men who failed to attend court

Eight men have been given jail sentences of nearly 58 years for multiple sexual offences against two children in Keighley.

Over the course of the last two years multiple men have stood trial at Bradford Crown Court after being charged with a variety of non-recent sexual offences.

Today (17 January 2025) we can report that the men have been handed down jail sentences.

All the charges relate to offending which happened in the Keighley area between 1996 and 1999 and the victims were young females aged between 13 and 16 at the time.

The first victim came forward to Police as an adult and reported the abuse she had suffered.  An investigation was then launched by the non-recent child sexual exploitation team in Bradford.  During the course of those enquiries the second victim came forward.  With the exception of Din, who has been convicted of raping both girls, all the offences were committed against the first victim.

After the first trial which concluded on 20 October 2023 five men have received the following sentences:

Amreaz Asghar 47 of Keighley was jailed for 4 and a half years for rape

Perwaz Asghar 50 of Nottingham was jailed for 6 and a half years for two indecent assaults

Mohammed Din 47 of Keighley was jailed for 14 years for 11 counts of rape

Sajid Mahmood Khan 45 of Keighley was jailed for 3 years for rape.

Zehroon Razak 47 of Keighley was jailed for 6 and a half years for rape

In a second trial which concluded on 13 December 2024 one man was convicted of child sex offences and two other men were also convicted but the trial was held in their absence.

They were sentenced at Bradford Crown Court on 17 January 2025.

Fayaz Ahmed 45 of Bingley was sentenced to 7 and a half years after being found guilty of two counts of rape in his absence. **

Imtiaz Ahmed 61 of Keighley was sentenced to 9 years after being found guilty of rape in his absence. **

Ibrar Hussain 47 of Keighley was  jailed for 6 and a half years after being found guilty of two counts of rape.

A 47 year old man was not fit to stand trial. A trial of facts took place and concluded that he did commit rape. He’ll be sentenced at a later date.

Detective Chief Inspector Vicky Greenbank, of Bradford District Police, said: “We welcome the sentences that have been handed down to these men. Cases such as these are incredibly sensitive and complex and it has taken years of painstaking investigation to bring them before the courts.

“I would like to take this opportunity to praise both victims for coming forward and reporting these offences to the police. They have both shown immense patience whilst the criminal investigation has been ongoing and courage throughout the court process.

“The abuse both girls endured robbed them of their childhood and I hope seeing these men sentenced for these horrendous offences, will give them justice and some closure.

“If anyone has suffered abuse or has concerns about someone who may be suffering abuse, I would urge them to come forward and speak to the police. We will listen to you and investigate all offences and also ensure you have access to any help or support you need.

“I hope this sends a clear message that regardless of how long ago these offences may have happened we will pursue every avenue to get justice.”

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrests of Imtiaz Ahmed and Fayaz Ahmed and enquiries are ongoing to locate them.
