A man in his 60s suffered serious injuries and sadly died in hospital
A man has sadly died after being struck by a vehicle in Burnley.
In an appeal made today, Lancashire Police said:
“We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man very sadly died in a collision in Burnley.
Our officers were called at 5.06pm yesterday to Padiham Road, Burnley, to a report of a road traffic collision.
When they attended, it was found that a Hyundai IX20 car had been in collision with a pedestrian in the carriageway.
The pedestrian – a man in his 60s – suffered serious injuries and very sadly was pronounced dead at hospital.
Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this distressing time and they were being supported by specially trained officers.
The road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigation work to be carried out.
As officers investigate the collision, we are appealing for witnesses and any footage from the area around the time it happened.”
