Motorists are advised to find alternative routes
A key road in Accrington town centre has been closed this afternoon due to an ongoing incident.
Eagle Street close to Accrington train station is currently closed with motorists asked to find alternative routes.
The exact nature of the incident has not yet be given.
In a social media post, Lancashire Police said:
“We’re currently at the scene of a road closure on Eagle Street in Accrington in order to assist our colleagues in the Fire Service.
There will be no access up or down Eagle Street while closed, please find alternative routes.
We’ll provide an update once cleared and thank you in advance for your patience.”
Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service have been approached for comment.
