A 43-year-old man remains in custody for questioning
A man has been arrested after an 82-year-old was left in a critical condition after being attacked at a bus stop in Handsworth on Tuesday.
In an update made today, West Midlands Police said:
“We’ve arrested a suspect after an 82-year-old man was seriously injured when he was attacked in Handsworth.
The victim was waiting at the 74 bus stop in Soho Road, near the junction with Boulton Road, when he was attacked at around 3.30pm on Tuesday (14 January).
We acted on information provided by Soho Road Business Improvement District (BID) this afternoon and detained a 43-year-old man on suspicion of wounding. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
The injured man remains in a critical condition in hospital.
