Man charged with attempted abduction of three-year-old girl in West Midlands

A man has been charged with the attempted abduction of a three-year-old girl in West Midlands.

In an update posted today, West Midlands Police said:

“We have charged a man for the attempted abduction of a three-year-old girl in Leicester Street, Wolverhampton on Thursday 9 January.

Richard Stacey, 37, has been charged with attempted child abduction, assault, and affray.

The 37-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday).

Thankfully, the child was not injured and we’re continuing to offer support to her and her family.”

Police believe the incident to be isolated with no wider threat to the public.
