The victim a woman aged 81 remains in hospital in a critical condition following the incident
A man has been charged with attempted murder following an assault at a property in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire on New Years Day.
Officers from Thames Valley Police were called to a residential property by the South Central Ambulance Service to report of an assault on an 81-year-old woman. She was rushed to hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
An 82-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged.
In a statement released today, Thames Valley Police said:
“Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been charged with attempted murder in Aylesbury.
Terrence Clarke, aged 82, of Buckingham Street, Aylesbury, was charged with attempted murder today (2/1).
Thames Valley Police received a call just after 12.40am yesterday (1/1) from South Central Ambulance Service of an assault with injury at a property in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury.
The victim, an 81-year-old woman, sustained serious, life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Clarke is due to appear at Wycombe Magistrates Court today (2/1).”
