Fylde Police catch burglar inside property just 3 minutes after 999 call

Fylde Police arrested the offender within three minutes of the call coming in

A man has been charged with attempted burglary after entering an address through the rear door in St Annes on Saturday night.

The incident happened around 11pm in the Clifton Drive North area of St.Annes.

Officers from Fylde Police responded within three minutes of the 999 call coming into the control room and arrested the man who was still inside the property.

He will appear before Magistrates on Monday.

In an update posted today, Lancashire Police said:

“Today, Anthony SMITH, 43, of no fixed abode, was charged with attempted burglary, and remanded in custody to appear at Preston Magistrates Court on 30th December 2024.

Yesterday, 28th December 2024, shortly before 11pm, a burglary was reported on Clifton Drive North, St Anne’s.

Fylde Neighbourhood officers arrived within three minutes of the 999 call, and arrested a male inside the address who had accessed the property via a rear door.
