Driver stopped in Brierfield with ladders hanging out of car

A driver has been issued with a fixed penalty notice after being stopped by police in Brierfield with a set of ladders hanging out the back of it.

Lancashire Police came across the unsecure load whilst patrolling the area on Friday night.

They went on to say that driving with such a load presents a risk of danger to other members of the public.

Posting on X, Lancs Police Specialist Ops said:

“Our Roads Policing Unit are committed in preventing collisions and casualties on the road.

The driver of this vehicle in Brierfield thought it was acceptable to drive with this ladder hanging from the rear of the vehicle with no means of making this safe.

Driving with such a load presents a risk of danger to other members of the public.

Fixed Penalty Notice issued and ladder removed from the vehicle.”
