A man in his 50s sadly died in hospital following the collision on Sunday
A man has sadly died following a collision in Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Queens Drive shortly before 1pm to report a car had left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
A man was rushed to hospital but died a short time later confirmed Merseyside Police.
A road closure remains in place whilst investigations were carried out to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
In a statement released today, Merseyside Police said:
“Emergency services are currently in Old Swan following a fatal collision this afternoon, Sunday 24 November.
At around 12.55pm, it was reported that a car had been involved in a collision with a tree at the junction of Queens Drive and Kremlin Drive.
The driver, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital but he sadly passed away.
There was no other vehicle involved.
A road closure is currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
