Road closures were put in place whilst specialist offices carried out a controlled explosion on Saturday
Emergency services were called to a suspicious package found close to Euston train station this morning.
Road closures were implemented to allow specialist officers to investigate the package with confirmation that a controlled explosion was carried out.
A spokesperson for the MET Police said on X: “We’re aware of reports online about an incident in the vicinity of Euston Station.
Police cordons are in place as a precaution while officers investigate a suspect package.
We will provide further updates on this thread in due course.”
They later added: “A controlled explosion has been carried out by specialist officers and the police cordons have now been lifted.
Thank you for your patience.”
This becomes the 5th suspicious package that officers have had to deal with in just the last 24 hours with major disruption caused outside the US EMBASSY in Nine ELMS on, Gatwick Airport was also evacuated along with Chester train station, Chester Bus station Interchange and a property in Leeds on Friday.
