Blackburn house fire which left one in hospital under investigation

House fire now under investigation say Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service

Emergency services rushed to the blaze at a residential property in Blackburn in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The fire involved a terraced house on Swan Street in the town. One person was rescued by firefighters and taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

The fire is now under investigation according to LFRS.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said:

“At 02:30, three fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen attended a fire involving a terraced property on Swan Street, Blackburn.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, one thermal imaging camera, and a gas monitor to extinguish the fire.

One casualty was rescued by the firefighters before they were transferred to hospital by ambulance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation
