A man has been left with serious injuries after attempting to stop a car rolling down a hill in Trafford.

In a statement released today, Greater Manchester Police said:

“On Monday 18 November at around 5.30pm, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision after a man tried to stop his vehicle from rolling down a road in Trafford. Emergency services attended the scene, and a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The victim was sat in the front nearside passenger seat of his vehicle which was initially parked up and stationary on Shay Lane on a slight decline.

Initial enquiries suggest while he waited for his work colleague to return to the vehicle, the vehicle began to roll down Shay Lane and there has been an attempt to prevent this.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
