More than 300 plants were discovered inside in what police are describing as a sophisticated but dangerous setup

Officers have found more than 300 cannabis plants following a search of a property in South Ribble.

Local neighbourhood policing teams executed a warrant at a residential address on Preston Road in Clayton-le-Woods on Wednesday morning. Inside, they found a sophisticated setup with electricity also being bypassed to supply the setup.

In an update posted today, Lancashire Police said:

“Today PC’s and PCSO’s from your local Neighbourhood Policing Team executed a warrant on Preston Road, Clayton le Woods and once inside discovered a cannabis grow containing more than 300 plants! The setup was very sophisticated as shown.

Cannabis grows like this are very dangerous to the public, often the electricity is bypassed and they become a major fire risk. The cannabis setups are often used to fund other crimes and exploit vulnerable people into growing or selling the cannabis and there is a correlation with weapon and knife crime.”
