Police believe this to be a targeted attack with no wider threat to the public
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Skelmersdale.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said:
“A man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Skelmersdale.
We were called at 10.54pm on Saturday 9th November to a report of an assault which had happened in an alleyway near to the Buffs club on Ormskirk Road.
When our officers attended, they found that a man in his 20s had suffered several stab injuries.
Fortunately, the injuries were not life-threatening.
It is believed to have been a targeted assault with no wider threat to the public.
A 56-year-old man was arrested in Skelmersdale at 4.12am on Sunday 10th November.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, James Don, 56, of Banksbarn, Skelmersdale, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
He appeared at Preston Magistrates Court yesterday (12th November) and was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on 10th December.”
