A vehicle was seen acting suspiciously in the area
A van has been seized by officers in South Ribble after being seen acting suspiciously. The van wasn’t insured and was subsequently seized. A class B drug was also found during the stop search, and a community resolution has been issued.
In a separate stop, a male wanted in connection with being involved in the Summer Riots, and burglary offences were arrested.
In an update posted on social media, Lancashire Police said:
“Your local Task force have started the weekend as they mean to go on.
A vehicle was seen acting suspiciously on Bannister Drive. PC Ganly-Boast and Sgt Harrison conducted a stop search under section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act and located a controlled Class B substance. Positive action in the form of a Community Resolution was issued to the driver.
Further more it transpired that the vehicle was uninsured so the van (Photographed) was seized under Section 165 Road Traffic Act and the driver was reported.
Following this PC Patel conducted a stop check on a vehicle On Haig Avenue in Leyland. It turned out that a 21 year old on board was wanted by Merseyside Police for his parts in the Summer Riots and a burglary in Southport. The male was duly arrested and is en route to Preston Custody.”
