They have both been remanded into custody to appear in court at a later date
A man and a woman have been charged with the murder of a 72-year-old man in York.
In a statement released today, North Yorkshire Police said:
“A man, 32, and a woman 42, have been charged with murder after the body of a 72-year-old man was found at a property in Huntington, York on 4 November 2024.
Following their arrest earlier this week, both defendants were charged late last night (7 November) and were remanded in custody to appear at York Magistrates’ Court this morning (8 November).
They were also both charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
Detective Superintendent Fran Naughton said:
“We remain at the scene of the murder at this time and expect to complete our work at the property today (8 November).
I reiterate my thanks to the local community for their support and understanding while we worked at the scene.
Our thoughts remain with the deceased’s family.”
