Fire breaks out at Preston Educational Building

Firefighters attended a fire at an educational building in Preston.

The fire happened shortly after 8am at The Lancaster School of Maths, which is situated across from Queens Park Retail Park on London Road with the junction of Primrose Hill in the city centre.

The fire, which is understood to have happened on the fourth floor of the building and involved an extractor fan, saw two fire engines from Preston in attendance. Firefighters used breathing apparatus and tools to isolate the fan and spent around fifteen minutes at the site.

No one was reported to have been injured, and no students were on site at the time of the fire.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said:

“Two fire engines attended an incident on London Road in Preston at 8:06am on 6th November.

The fire involved an extractor fan unit on the fourth floor.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and small tools to isolate the extractor fan and were at the scene for fifteen minutes.
