Boy 14 Charged With Attempted Murder After Girl 13 Stabbed In East Yorkshire

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempting to murder a 13-year-old girl following a stabbing in East Yorkshire on Friday morning.

In a statement released this evening, Humberside Police said:

“A teenage boy has been charged after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed at around 6.50am on Friday 1 November.

The 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.  He has been remanded into custody to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on Monday 4 November.

We were called to reports of concern for safety after a girl appeared injured at the side of the road on the A63 in Hessle.

Officers attended and discovered the girl, 13-years-old, had sustained lacerations to her neck, abdomen, chest and back, and was subsequently taken to hospital to receive medical treatment were she now remains in a serious but stable condition.

An area search was conducted and six teenagers were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in a wooded area nearby in connection with the incident.

Three teenage boys aged 15, 16 and 17-years-old, and two girls, 14 and 15-years-old have since been released from custody on police bail. “
