Halloween horror at Wendy’s restaurant as four injured in fireworks incident
Four people were rushed to hospital in what police describe as a serious but stable condition following an incident at Wendy’s restaurant in Brighton on Halloween night.
The incident involved fireworks being set off in the restaurants toilet block, causing burn injuries to four people.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 8:30pm. A road closure was put in place on Western Road to allow for medical assistance to be administered before the four injured were conveyed to hospital.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said:
“Police received a report at around 8.30pm on Thursday (31 October) that people had been injured at Wendy’s in Western Road, Brighton.
It was reported that four people sustained burns following an incident in the restaurant’s toilet area.
Although their injuries are considered serious, they remain in a stable condition and have been taken to hospital for treatment.
A temporary road closure was implemented in Western Road to allow emergency vehicles to attend the scene. This has since been lifted.
