Severe Delays On M55 Between J2 Edith Rigby Way and M6 J32 Broughton Interchange

Average speeds of between 10mph and 15pmh have been reported during rush hour

Severe delays are expected on the M55 this evening.

AA Live Traffic is showing severe delays of fourteen minutes on the M55 Eastbound carriageway between Junction 2 and Junction 32 of the M6. With average speeds of fifteen miles per hour.

Motorists have taken to social media to vent their frustration.

One commenter said this is a daily occurrence now and is getting ridiculous with another saying that they were glad it was their final day of working in Blackpool and using the M55 to commute to and from work.

Elsewhere in Lancashire severe delays of twelve minutes and delays increasing on M6 Southbound between J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange) and J30 M61. Average speed 15 mph.

Longridge Road through Ribbleton, Sir Tom Finney Way, Eastway, Watling Street Road and Blackpool Road is also expecting delays and average speeds of 10mph.

There is also delays on the A584 Promenade in both directions from central pier.

Slow traffic through Freckleton due to traffic signal failure on Lytham Road both ways at Kirkham Road. Temporary lights have been put in place. Affecting all approaches.

Severe delays of 15 minutes and delays increasing on M65 Westbound between J5 A6077 (Guide / Shadsworth) and J3 A674 Chorley Road (Blackburn West / Wheelton). Average speed ten mph.

Delays of one minute and delays easing on M65 Westbound between J6 A6119 Whitebirk Drive (Blackburn / Whitebirk Roundabout) and J5 A6077 (Guide / Shadsworth). Average speed 25 mph.

Delays of four minutes and delays easing on M65 Eastbound between J7 A6185 Hyndburn Road (Rishton / Accrington) and J10 A671 Cavalry Way (Burnley / Padiham). Average speed 15 mph.
