A motorcycle that failed to stop for officers was in collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on Monday afternoon
Two men have been rushed to hospital following a collision in Bradford earlier today.
West Yorkshire Police have referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the collision.
In a statement released today, West Yorkshire Police said:
“At 1.19pm today (Monday), a motorcycle was reported to have failed to stop for police in the Eccleshill area of Bradford.
The motorcycle, which had two males on board, was sighted on Harrogate Road travelling towards the city centre.
Within a short time of a pursuit being authorised, a collision occurred which also involved a red Vauxhall Corsa.
The two riders remain in hospital, with one of them having suffered what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.
The second male suffered serious injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.
No other injuries were reported.
Road closures remain in place and an investigation has begun into how the collision occurred. The Independent Office for Police Conduct has also been notified.
Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact police on 101, or by using the livechat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
