One person was taken to a place of safety following the call this afternoon
Trains were this afternoon disrupted as police dealt with a concern for welfare of a person at Burnley Train Station.
British Transport Police were called at around 12:30pm on Monday afternoon to reports of a concern for welfare. A person was taken to a place of safety following the call.
Travel disruption for Northern rail caused trains from Preston to Colne to be terminated at Accrington whilsts the incident was dealt with.
Northern rail has since confirmed that the train lines are now fully reopened.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:
“We were called to Burnley Station shortly after 12.30pm today (Monday) following reports of a concern for the welfare of a person.
“Officers attended, and the person was taken to a place of safety.”
