Despite previous warnings to cease alcohol sales the premises has continued to sell over the weekend

This afternoon Police Licensing, along with SDU and your neighbourhood Policing Team, attended a business on New Hall Lane following concerns regarding illegal alcohol sales taking place at the premises.

In a an update posted to social media, Preston Police said:

“Following a search of the premises under Section 180 of the Licensing Act 2003, it was discovered that despite being given verbal and written warning to cease alcohol sales and remove alcohol from the display the premises have continued alcohol sales over the weekend.

As a result, we have seized all the alcohol at the premises and are now looking at prosecution under the Licensing Act and should conviction be obtained, we will request a deprivation order for the alcohol where it will then be given to appropriate charities.

PC Ste Connolly from Police Licensing said “it is disappointing that the premises opted to ignore our warning, prosecution for Licensing offences is a last resort however due to the circumstances, lesser action is not available to us”

p.s. it won’t be used for any Christmas parties and if you like & share this post there won’t be a prize (but feel free to like & share regardless)”
