Emergency services are currently in attendance this afternoon
The M65 Motorway is currently partially blocked this afternoon due to a vehicle fire.
The Eastbound carriage way between junction 9 for A679 Hapton to junction 10 A671 Burnley blocked by emergency services attending the blaze.
Motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible whilst the incident is dealt with.
Images from the scene show a vehicle on the hardshoulder well alight.

“Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on M65 Eastbound from J9 A679 (Hapton / Burnley West) to J10 A671 Cavalry Way (Burnley / Padiham).
Congestion to just before J8 (Accrington).
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said:
At 15:27 on the 24th October 2024, two fire engines from Hyndburn and Burnley attended a vehicle fire on M65 East between Junction 9 and 10.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
Crews remain in attendance.
