Lancashire Police are warning residents to be extra vigilant following a significant rise in burglaries this week.

During one report of a burglary in Inglewhite, officers recovered two bikes that they believe have been stolen and have made an appeal for it’s owners to come forward.

In a social media post made this morning, Lancashire Police said:

“There have been a significant number of burglaries in the Padiham and Ightenhill areas, which occured yesterday afternoon and overnight into the early hours of this morning.

Whilst responding to one reported in the Ightenhill area, the below bikes have been recovered. If you recognise the bikes and have proof of ownership, please contact 101 or visit Burnley Police Station Front Desk quoting log LC-20241023-0108.

We are reminding residents to remain vigilant and keep all valuables locked and out of view. We would also ask residents to review CCTV in the Wellfield Drive area and surrounding streets, and report any suspicious CCTV or footage of offenders to police.”
