Man Who Attempted To Leave Blackburn Store With High Valued Food Items Arrested

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Robbery following the incident yesterday in Blackburn.

In a social media update, Lancashire Police said:

“We were called to reports of a robbery at a store on Mosley Street, Blackburn, on 22nd October 2024, where it was reported that a man had attempted to leave a shop with a variety of high value food items.

A 39-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of robbery and is currently in custody.

Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw and the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime (LANPAC).

The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.”
