Detectives investigating the sexual assault of a child at a cafe in Greater Manchester have made an appeal for the victim to come forward.
Following an initial enquiries, a woman was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a female under 16 and has been released pending further investigation.
In an appeal made today, Greater Manchester Police said:
“Officers are appealing for the victim to come forward following a sexual assault at a café on Northenden Road in Sale, Trafford on Saturday 19 October 2024 between 11am and 11.50am.
Through initial enquiries, officers have established that the victim, who is a child, is believed to have been approached by an adult while they were waiting at the café counter with their parent.
A 33-year-old woman has already been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a female under 16 and bailed pending further investigation.
Officers have followed up on several lines of investigation and are now in the position to ask for the public’s assistance as we continue to appeal for the victim and her parent to come forward and speak to us.
