Motorcyclist Dies Following Collision With Land Rover Freelander In Lancashire

A motorcyclist, a man in his 50s has sadly died following a road traffic collision on Monday afternoon.

Lancashire Police have now launched an appeal for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said:

“We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man very sadly died following a collision at Burrow, near Kirkby Londsdale.

The emergency services were called at 1.20pm yesterday (21st October) to the A683 Burrow Road, to a report of a road traffic collision.

Our officers attended and found that a motorbike and a Land Rover Freelander had been in collision.

The motorbike rider, a 51-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to hospital.

Despite the best efforts of the medical personnel, very sadly he died in hospital today (22nd October).

Sgt Joe Ghigi of Lancashire Police, said: “First and foremost, my thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very sad and distressing time.


“As we investigate what happened, we want to appeal for witnesses or to anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam footage from around the time of the collision.

“This is a rural area but there will have been vehicles using the road.”
