Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following Darwen Knife Attack

A man suffered a slash wound to the face following the incident in Darwen

A man has been charged with attempted murder following an investigation into a knife attack in Darwen at the weekend.

In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said,

“We have charged a man with attempted murder after an incident in Darwen yesterday.

Our officers were called to Borough Road, Darwen, at 2.56am following reports a man had received a slash injury to his face.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Following enquiries, a 25-year-old man from Darwen was arrested.

After consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service, we have charged Jordan O’Brien, 25, of James Street, Darwen, with attempted murder. He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Blackburn this morning.
