Smoke could be seen billowing across the skies in Thornton Cleveleys on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of a fire at a commercial premises on Fleetwood Road North shortly before 5pm.
Residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed if they saw or smelled smoke.
Five fire engines from across the Fylde attended the blaze and a drone team.
An aerial ladder platform and firefighters using breathing apparatus and several hose reels tackled the blaze.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said:
Five fire engines from Fleetwood, Bispham, Blackpool and Preesall, an aerial ladder platform from Blackpool, and the drone team attended a commercial building fire on Fleetwood Road North in Thornton Cleveleys.
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used several hose reels to extinguish the fire.
One crew remained at the incident overnight to monitor for any further signs of heat or smoke.
