Man May Hold Vital Information After Girl Sexually Assaulted On Bolton Bus

A teenage girl was allegedly sexually assaulted on the bus heading towards Bolton town centre

Detectives investigating the sexual assault on a teenage girl whilst on board a bus in Bolton have made an appeal.

In an appeal made today, Greater Manchester Police said,

“Happening at around 6pm on Thursday 25 July 2024 on Sixth Avenue, a teenage girl, who was travelling towards Bolton town centre was sexually assaulted.

Following enquiries, this person pictured is who officers are keen to speak to as they believe he has vital information that could help with the investigation into specifically what happened.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

PC Paul Brown-Hampson from our Bolton district said; “Since the report was made during the summer we have conducted a number of lines of enquiry to try and locate the person responsible and are now in a position to appeal to the local public to help us further.

“We understand incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community but would like to provide reassurance that we are treating it with the seriousness it deserves.

“Officers remain on patrol in key areas to provide a visible presence to anyone who may feel unsafe and would encourage you to speak to us in person if you need to.”
