“Here’s a taster of what’s been keeping our Roads Crime Team busy over the last 24 hours…

An Audi A8 was stopped at the Charnock Richard services after being driven at high speed Southbound on the M6. The vehicle was searched and around £13,000 cash was found in a carrier bag in a footwell. A 36 year old man from Northampton was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Whilst officers have been conducting a stop check on a driver of an Audi Q5, the driver has attempted to make off and collided with a police vehicle and a lamp post. The lamp post suffered significant damage. The driver has then attempted to make off on foot. Officers have given chase, alongside support from a member of the public, and have located and detained the 27 year old man from Skelmersdale. After conducting a search of the Audi, two large bags of white powder and tablets have been located. The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, money laundering, and dangerous driving. He is currently in custody.

Officers were on patrol on Deepdale Road in Preston when they stopped a Ford Transit van. After searching the van, officers found a large amount of suspected class A drugs. A 39 year old man of no fixed address and a 50 year old man from Yardley, Birmingham were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. They are both currently in custody.”
