Suspected Preston Capitol Centre Beauty Product Thief Arrested

£200 worth of health & beauty products were stolen during the theft

A man from Manchester remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of theft from Waitrose at Prestons Capitol Centre.

In a post on social media, South Ribble Police said,

“We have arrested a man following a theft from a store at the Capitol Centre.

We were called to Waitrose at around 4pm yesterday, (Sunday 6th October, 2024). It was reported around £200 worth of health and beauty products had been stolen.

A 35 year old man from Manchester is under arrest on suspicion of theft from a shop and is currently in custody waiting to be questioned.

Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county, backed by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw.

The operation sees dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
