A 24-year-old man has also been charged with various offences in relation to this investigation.
A second man has been charged with various offences after an 87-year-old man was kidnapped as he made his way home from a local mosque in Oldham.
In an update, Greater Manchester Police said,
“Azizur Rahman (14/02/1985) of Oldham has now been charged with the following offences;
Kidnap.
Robbery.
Section 18 assault.
Intentional strangulation.
Threaten a person with a bladed article.
Pervert course of justice.
Threats to kill.
He has been remanded into custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 2 October 2024).
Shohad Miah (30/04/2000) from Royton was also charged with kidnap, grievous bodily harm, robbery and intentional strangulation, on Tuesday 24 September 2024, in relation to this incident.
This charge relates to an incident which saw an 87-year-old man forced into a car, attacked, and thrown out on a dark road in West Yorkshire.
