Officers discovered the sites when the vehicles GPS location device led them to two sites
Two men and three women have been arrested following an investigation into stolen range rovers in Lancashire.
The arrests came from the help of members of the public who kept the police updated on their vehicles GPS device locations.
Two sites were identified by officers investigating the thefts.
In a post made today, Lancashire Police said,
“We’ve got some good news to bring you today, an example of the police and public working together to help make communities safer.
Last week we let you know about organised car thieves targeting Land Rovers and Range Rovers in the Lancashire area, and we now have an update to bring you.
On Saturday 28th September, with the help of two members of the public updating us with their GPS device locations in their stolen vehicles, we uncovered two sites containing stolen cars that were being dismantled.
One site was at Plumpton Grange, Preston, and the other at Bambers Lane North, Blackpool.
We arrested two men, aged 26 and 36, and three women aged 25, 31 and 57, on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.
They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.
