The incident happened shortly before 2am on Sunday morning.
A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed at a petrol station forecourt in Ingol.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning on the forecourt of the BP petrol station on Tag Lane.
A man has been arrested and remains in custody on suspicion of assault causing grevious bodily harm.
A spokesperson for the force said,
“At around 1:59am on Sunday 29th September we were called by the ambulance service to reports of a stabbing on Tag Lane, Ingol, Preston.
Officers attended to find a man had been stabbed, and he was taken to hospital.
A 39 year old man from Ingol, Preston, has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He is currently in custody.
Enquiries are ongoing.
