Three people remain in custody on suspicion of firearm offences.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a firearms discharge in Blackpool on Friday night.
In a statement released today, Lancashire Police said,
“We are appealing for witnesses and footage after a firearm was discharged in Blackpool.
Our officers were called at 9.46pm yesterday (20th September) to Shaw Road, to a report of a firearms incident.
They attended and found that a firearm – believed to be a BB gun – had been discharged from inside an Audi A3 car in the direction of a Mercedes on the Promenade, causing damage to the Mercedes.
A short time later there was a second discharge from inside the Audi which again caused damage to the Mercedes.
No one was injured and we do not believe there in any wider threat to the public.
Officers investigating want to speak to anyone who witnessed the firearm being discharged, and anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time it happened.
Any witnesses or anyone with footage, please contact 101 – quoting log 1530 of 20th September 2024 – or email 8012@lancashire.police.uk
