It is alleged that the man in the image touch the leg of a teenage girl on the bus following erratic behaviour.
A CCTV still has been issued by Merseyside Police as they appeal for anyone who recognises the man in the image to come forward ad part of their investigation into an incident in a bus in Liverpool City Centre earlier this month.
In an appeal made today, Merseyside Police said,
“Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man who could assist with their enquiries following a report of an incident on the 75 bus.
It was reported at around 12.25pm on Friday 6 September a man got on the 75 bus at Ullet Road to Liverpool city centre and sat next to a 17-year-old girl at the back of the bus and was behaving erratically. During the journey he allegedly touched her inappropriately on the lower leg.
The victim managed to leave the bus at St Luke’s Church Bombed-out Church on Leece Street while the man remained on the bus and moved to the window seat.
Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “We take reports of this nature very seriously, and we are very keen to speak with the person featured in the images to help with our enquiries.
“This was a traumatic experience for the victim, and we are working hard to ensure that the person responsible is identified.
“I am also appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him to please contact us. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
