Firefighters Tackle Boat Fire On Whittle-le-Woods Canal

Three fire engines including the water incident unit from Penwortham attended the fire.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of a boat fire last night, Friday 13th September.

The fire happened on the Leeds and Liverpool canal at Whittle-le-Woods just before 10pm.

Three fire engines from stations across Lancashire attended the fire alongside the water incident unit from Penwortham. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service said,

“At 21:43, three fire engines from Chorley, Penwortham, and Darwen, and the water incident unit from Penwortham attended a small boat fire on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley.

Firefighters used one hose reel to bring the fire under control and were in attendance for just over one hour.
