BREAKING: 16-year-old Boy Dies Following Chain Caul Way Collision

An 18-year-old remains in a critical condition and a 17-year-old remains in a serious but stable condition confirm Lancashire Police.

Lancashire Police have confirmed some very sad news this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Chain Caul Way last night just before 11pm to reports of a collision.

Upon arrival, they found an Audi A3 Sport car had left the road and collided with trees.

Three people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A 16-year-old boy has now been confirmed to have sadly died from his injuries in hosiptal.

In an update, Lancashire Police said,

“Earlier today, we appealed for your help following a collision in Preston, and we now have a very sad update to bring you.

A 16-year-old boy has died from injuries suffered in the collision.

At 10:55pm yesterday, the emergency services were called to Chain Caul Way, between Leeward Road and Nile Close to a report of a collision.

Our officers attended, where they found that an Audi A3 Sport, which had been travelling towards Lea had left the carriageway and collided with trees.

A 16-year-old boy died in hospital after suffering serious injuries.

The driver, an 18-year-old man also suffered serious injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital. A 17-year-old boy, the front seat passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries and is in a stable condition in hospital.

A young life has been lost, and at what must be an incredibly distressing time for them, our thoughts go out to the family and loved ones of the teenager who sadly died.

We’re continuing to investigate the collision, and our thoughts also remain with the injured people and their loved ones.
